Labrador Drops Out of House Committee

WASHINGTON -- Republican Raul Labrador dropped out of the bipartisan committee that is working on an immigration bill, claiming that he and the rest of the group did not see eye-to-eye about the direction of the bill.

His departure may spark the same reaction from other Republicans and kill the bill before it has even reached the Senate floor. "It's not a positive thing for the group, it is what it is and I think we're going to be able to work together," Labrador said.

The final straw that made him quit might be surprising, but Obamacare has been a hotly-criticized topic and combining it with immigration has apparently been too much to handle. Labrador walked out after disagreement on whether undocumented immigrants would have to pay for their own healthcare, or be entitled to any subsidies from the government.

"I can't continue to negotiate," Labrador said. "Sometimes you just have to walk away. And you might end up getting a better product by walking away."
