GOP Calls for Toughened Border Security

WASHINGTON — The Immigration reform bill has come to a screeching halt in the Senate as Republicans reveal that it will not pass unless some changes are made.
A Texan senator has called for an amendment to the bill that would force Border Patrol to have 100% security over the US-Mexico border before any immigrants can receive permanent status.

This is just one example of the distrust of the Obama administration because it is widely believed by the Republicans that the Executive branch will not be enforcing the new law, if it does pass.


While the Senate is worried about the borders, Republican Representatives claim that there's simply no way that the bill can get a majority in the conservative House. Call for overhaul has met with House Speaker John Boehner arguing with the Senate that the bill is a non-starter in the House.
